Safisha
Mance, CMP, President
Ms.
Mance brings expertise gained from more than 1,000 events in
more than 250 venues to all of her meetings and special events.
Since 1994, she has planned meetings and special events
for a variety of clients, including associations, law firms,
private corporations and government agencies. Over the last 10
years, she has successfully developed national conferences and
tradeshows, educational seminars, award ceremonies, staff retreats
and summer associate programs.
A D.C. resident,
Ms. Mance has held leadership positions with the D.C. Chamber of
Commerce and is an active member of Meeting
Professionals International (MPI), and currently serves on the board
of the local chapter of MPI, the Potomac Chapter of Meeting Professionals
International (PMPI). In 2002 and 2003 she received the honor of
being named “Co-Chair
of The Year” for her efforts and leadership in membership recruitment
for PMPI. Ms. Mance is currently an instructor for the CMP study
course on the topics of ADA compliance and risk management. Mance
has a B.A. in Speech Communication from George Mason University.
Elisabeth
Reynolds, Marketing Manager
Ms. Reynolds has over ten years of non-profit and event management
experience. In her previous roles, she has been responsible for raising
over $700,000 (net) annually, overseeing 100 + events a year, managing
event budgets, supervising staff and volunteers, handling on-site
events, creating marketing strategies, etc. Ms. Reynolds has held
employment with the German Historical Institute, the Goethe-Institute
Washington, The Cultural Alliance of Greater Washington and five and
a half years as the Director of Special Events at the D.C. Chamber
of Commerce. She holds a Master’s degree from the University
of Maryland in German Philology and a B.A. from West Virginia University.
She sits on the board of the Washington Network Group.
Myrlin
Young, CMP, Director of Events & Site Selection
Ms. Young has over 8 years experience in coordinating and executing
all event logistics for government & board meetings, international
conferences & workshops, educational courses and special events.
Her scope of work includes onsite event management, event marketing,
site selections, contract negotiation, budget management, rooming
list management, RFP management and billing reconciliation. Ms. Young’s
experience in site selection and contract negotiations while affiliated
with the Association of Fundraising Professionals and Helms Briscoe
has aided Mance & Associates clients in receiving the best hotel
rates and concessions. In addition to pursuing a degree in Trade Show
& Exposition Management, Ms. Young is certified by the American
Business Institute and has an Associates of Arts in Business from
Mercy College. Her affiliations include being a member of Association
of Meeting Professionals (AMP) since 2003 and a member of The National
Coalition of Black Meeting Planners (NCBMP) since 2004.
